For the third outing of my Different Strokes show on Box Frequency FM, I was genuinely delighted to be able to share the platform with Iain Mann, otherwise known as Mannmademusic. Ian has put out really top notch house music on labels like Tusk Wax, Editorial, Shadeleaf, Lumberjacks In Hell and Midnight Riot Recordings to name a few, so to say I felt out of my depth sharing a stage is putting it mildly. For Iain's mix, you can probably tell from what I've already said, is full of top quality choices with a great flow and transitions.
For my own part, I went all in on the deep house / tech vibe and really tried to raise the bar in for myself, and you know what, I think I did too. The tracks on here are still very big favourites of mine and the Vince Clark track, remixed by Carl Craig still gives me goosebumps and causes movement, whether I intend to or not. As with most of my own mixes, it's not had huge attention, which is a shame when you do feel positive about something, but it is what it is. Perhaps by having the mixes on individually rather than one continuous set it might get a few more plays.... we'll see.
